Clean Eating: How to Prepare Gluten-Free Quinoa

To say I’m enamored with quinoa is probably an understatement. This delicious, gluten-free grain is a staple of our clean eating lifestyle. Barely a week goes by when I don’t make up a batch and turn it into a healthy side dish or main dish — quinoa southwestern stew, quinoa breakfast porridge and quinoa w/pesto are a few of my favorites. It’s almost always part of my weekl… Continue

Tonights workout

With so many people sick at work, there has been a paranoid attitude about swine flu - and working later hours over the last few days - I have not had time to do a long workout. My workouts are made to be shorter than 30 minutes (most only last 20). I chose to do a revised workout tonight. Listened to my body - did some good exercises until I felt it was enough (sometimes I get nauseated if I go too far and tonight I was starting to feel that way after about 15 minutes) - to keep from making mys… Continue

Quote for Today

"Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out." ~Art Linkletter

Love this quote! It is so true!! Once again - attitude is key. What are you thinking about today that gives you more to look forward to? How are you seeing your circumstances? What can you do to improve your outlook? It is all how you look at it and then move forward....

Have a great week ahead! I plan to!!

Week 2 day 2 of My Challenge

My youngest daughter is sick today, so I'm spending the day with her instead of work. Decided to get in my workout early so I could do other things later.

Day 2 of my wk 2 workouts - great mix up! Shoulders and triceps worked to the max. Legs worked good as well. Like the overhead press with barbell and squats - good combo.
Side kicks getting higher now...more flexible - good!!

Hope everyone is doing well with their challenges.
Keep going!! You ARE WORTH IT!!

Holiday Challenge

Last week was not a good week, I have a really sensitive system..who knows from what, I read once that as we age we begin to lose our digestive enzymes, okay so maybe that's it..I am 53..I take enzymes before I eat anything. But I was out of whack last week, but so far so good, everything seems to be working properly as of this morning.

So I am hitting the gym, however I won't be doing too many exercises that require more strength than usual as I also have a problem with my right arm. Back in 1… Continue

Inspiring and Motivating...

Testimonials...

"I've been training, via the internet, with Angie for almost a year. I've never stayed with a trainer that long even at the gym.

Angie's workouts are great--short and effective. I began with her online training and just recently finished her Fat Blasting Boot Camp. I have increased energy and lost quite a few inches and a few pounds; but what I am most happy with is the increase in my strength.

There's nothing better than a trainer who listens to you and really cares about her clients."

My thanks to a great lady!
Angie has given me many reasons to not give up on my healthy lifestyle changes.

After joining her Women's Diet and Fitness site - I found great support and tips for keeping on track and trying new things.
When Angie encouraged me to move over to the FBBC, I was afraid I'd lose the support from the friends I had on WDF, but I was wrong.

I not only still have the support, I have new friends as well - who I can encourage and they encourage me. Her challenges are a great mix up for my workouts, and I enjoy doing that as often as I can to keep me from getting bored with my exercises. Angie is a great lady, who knows a lot about fitness. Thanks for being so kind and sharing so much!

~Ruth Christilaw
====================

"I started working with Angie as a Personal Trainer through Fitness 19. When I explained that I do better on my own at home, she told me about the FBBC. How perfect!! I can do it on MY time in MY home at MY pace!! I LOVE THIS! I'm grateful for Angie's encouragement, and for her knowledge. I didn't have a full knowledge of the body fat composition, and I had set an impossible goal- just because I didn't know any better! But now I have realistic goals, a fully comprehensive program to help achieve them, motivation from "my girls" (love you all!), and a renewed vigor for LIFE!"
