Superbowl Sunday

I'm not watching the Superbowl this year because my team, the Steelers, is not in it. I've decided instead to start going through all my stuff again and weed things out. I don't have school tomorrow or Tuesday so I have plenty of time to get through the whole apt. Might not have school Wednesday either if we get the additional 6 inches they are calling for beginning Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon.
That would make our total here at my place, if we get 6 inches, 36 inches of snow.

Mixin' it up again... : ) (turns out my short bursts are actually very good for me!)

After a week of short workouts and getting in stairs/walking when I can, I did some more research online to find out how well the 'short bursts' work. Tabatas are a good example of those, and I make my own based on what my body needs.


I found out that 'short bursts' are better than long grueling exercise times and outdo the cardio and weight training for your heart and lungs, that helps your overall health. This looks to be key for me to incorporate into

My first blog posting... not a pretty sight.

Hate to start my first blog on a bad note, but I have had an awful day! I don't know if it's PMS, stress, or just life, but I couldn't bring myself to work out today and ate like crap. I'm going to make myself journal my food, but there was so much binge eating that I don't know where to start... I'm hoping the cookie I just ate was the end. Feeling uhg and hoping for a much better day tomorrow. Hmmm... wonder if it'll be a full moon tonight...

Another way to put that is - Procrastination gets you no where...
If I am having to think about my workout more than a few minutes before actually doing it, then I usually think my way out of doing it! LOL I find that just DOING IT without thinking about it too much, makes more sense and gets it done.

My Collage (1 page per long term goal)

Used clip art and my own fotos. Not much in clipart but it will suffice. I saved these to iPhoto in an album and then put on my desktop as background with pics changing every 5 secs. Now when I'm on the computer I will see them too.

Friday Musings

I bought myself an ab roller..it's harder than it looks, I am using it in the hopes of getting not only my core stronger but also my back & shoulders since I am still on my quest of doing 1 chin up..I have also upped the weight I am lifting back up to #15, I had to stop using heavier weights as it was killing my one arm, I have permanent nerve damage in my right arm..I had to restrengthen it and I believe I am on the mend.

TC Day 10

Did my workout this morning, but added a few things to it because I felt like my arms were not getting enough of a workout. We are doing the Thigh Burner Tabata routine right now. So I added a set of push ups into my round and modified the squats to sumos with bicep curl using 5 lb weights on each arm. Plus we had to do 3 sets of 30 second planks. OUCH! TC Day 9

The class was great. We did 5 stations at 50/10 and then we did cardio. My heart rate was above limits. I worked hard and feel fabulous. I love that the flow of the class went to quickly...much more so then the semi-private sessions. I burned 250 calories this morning. WOOOHOOO! Then I took the dog for a walk when I got home.

TC Day 7 - Rest

Today is my rest day. No workout. It is also my bread carb day.

I set my goals last week and have decided to revise them a little:

1. Lose 30 lbs by April 11th, 2010
2. Eat over 100 grams of protein 6 days a week until April 11th, 2010.
3. Eat no more than 2 servings of bread carbs per week until April 11, 2010.

After joining her Women's Diet and Fitness site - I found great support and tips for keeping on track and trying new things.
